Event Summary:
Support individuals with Down syndrome and all Special Olympic athletes by participating in the Stepping Forward for Down Syndrome 5k/1k run/walk. With your help, we can ensure the support that is needed to enrich the lives of those living with disabilities continues to be available in our area.
Event Details:
The 5k run/walk will take place through Alameda Park. The start and finish will be at the flag pole by the Carousel Shelter.
Parking:
Parking is available in the lots by the Masonic Shelter and the purple park. If you are planning on parking by the Carousel Shelter, please arrive early to avoid road closure. Aid stations and EMS will be on hand.
Race Day:
7:30-8:30 am- Packet pick-up/race day registration.
9:00 am- Start of the 5k run/walk.
10:00 am- Start of the 1k.

Pre-Registration Fees:
$20 for 5k, $10 for 1k. All Special Olympic athletes are invited to participate for free! Please email Noelle Sequite at nsequite@SSFDS@gmail.com if you are a Special Olympics athlete and I will make the arrangements for you to be registered.
Online registration must be completed by September 10th.
All runners and walkers can register day of the race at the Carousel Shelter for $25 for 5k, $15 for 1k.
Awards:
-1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall male and female runners receive awards.
-1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female in each age group will win medals.
-Finisher ribbons will be awarded to all 1k participants under the age of 12.
Age Groups
14 and under, 15-19, 20-39, 40-59, 60 and up.

Picnic will follow the 1k at the Carousel Shelter. Baskets and other prizes will be raffled off during the picnic. DJ DeHart will be the Master of Ceremonies and provide our race day entertainment! Thank you in advance for your support and generosity. |
